Genesis 50:19-20, God wins

But Joseph said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God? You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives”.

We’re very familiar with verse 20…“What man intends for evil God intends for good.” I heard my dad quote it many times. I believe it. I’ve seen it work out in my life on a number of occasions. We’re not so familiar with verse 19…“Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God?”  The promise of verse 20 is premised upon the truth of verse 19. We shouldn’t separate them.
This is a reminder that nobody gets to stand in God’s place…even the most powerful among us. With that said, how can anybody, subordinate to God, usurp God’s authority in my life? It simply can’t be done.

The boss? The sheriff? The President? Nope!

So, let them do what they have to do. It will not influence what God is already doing.

Live boldly out there today…
