Genesis 46:4, The security of the unknown…

Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt…I will go down to Egypt with you, and I will surely bring you back again.”

Change is difficult. It brings so many “unknowns”. “Unknowns” create fear. It’s why most of us prefer to keep faith with our traditions. It’s why the seven last words of the church are “we’ve never done it that way before!

It’s why Jacob wanted to talk with God…and God replied.

One of my co-workers is 60. She lives in the house in which she was born. It’s like Groundhog’s Day. Nothing ever changes. At least that’s what she thought…and she liked that.

Until her brother-in-law needed a liver transplant. Then her life got hectic. It threw her off her game. No matter how we try to avoid it, we face the unknown every day…literally.

A pretty good way to face each new “unknown” is to sit down and have a conversation with God.

Live boldly out there today…
